M5 x .08 Cap Head Bolts in Stainless

from 0.75

Highest quality Stainless steal cap head M5 bolts by Wheels Manufacturing. M5 x .08 refers to the the size and pitch of the threads. It's the most common size for bikes.

The second most common size is M6 x 1; this size can be found on canti bosses, seat binder bolts, some brake hardware and some rack braze ons, mostly on older bikes. Check out our selection of M6 hardware.

Select your size! size is an indication of thread lenght, don't count the head of the bolt.

We recommend cap head bolts only for most things.

We use the 16mm ones for securing water bottle cages, and the 8 or 10mm ones for mud flaps. The 20mm ones are the right thing for replacing worn out screws on old shifters such as the Simplex retro friction. Measure out the size you need for whatever else you might need like mounting racks. You need the threads to go through whatever you are blolting together. If it goes all the way through two non threaded things you will need to add room for washers and a nylock nut. you need at least 1 thread poking all the way through the nut, but don't want a lot of extra threads to get bent or snag on stuff.

*We recomend using socket cap bolts for things like racks, fenders, and anything else that needs to be a little extra tight as it gets flexed or torqued on.
